EXPECT to see these names in bright lights soon - Tobias Moldenhauer and Alex Mitchell.
The pair beat stiff competition to win top prizes at the North Queensland Talent Quest.
Yungaburra-based singer/songwriter Tobias Moldenhauer won the open section with an original instrumental piece called Haunted Forest. The 27-year-old took home a trophy and $1000 prize money after the event held in Cairns on Saturday night. "It was a surprise to win," Mr Moldenhauer said. "But it’s good timing, I am going to use the money for my next project, producing a live concert album called Live at The Red Shed".
Alex Mitchell, 10, from Innisfail, also wowed the judges with a slick jazz solo, winning a trophy and $500 in the junior section. The pair got through regional heats held earlier this year to make it to the finals.
